The second meeting of the TMQG was held last Wednesday, and because we have quite a few people who can't make it to our regular meetings, we will be sharing a glimpse of each meeting here on the blog so you can see what we get up to!!
One of the most exciting parts of the last meeting was sharing the name tags everyone made as part of the name tag swap. We announced the swap at our first meeting, and had lots of people sign up. Everyone talked a bit about who they made their tag for and what techniques they used. Everyone was delighted with their tags - and a second round has opened for anyone who missed out on the first one. If you'd like to join in, please follow this link and fill out the form :o)
We also had a show and tell, with a bit of a theme for this meeting - a few very brave people brought in their very first quilt. There was a very funny story with this first quilt - the quilt was actually made using the scraps left over from making the patchwork teddy bear!
Aside from the name tag swap and show and tell, we watched a free motion quilting presentation and drew some winners from a lucky door prize sponsored by Frangipani Fabrics (some of Elizabeth Hartmann's amazing patterns!) We are all looking forward to our next meeting - and our first sewing day on the 16th November (more details to come!)
