The Tasmanian Modern Quilt Guild have been offered a booth and some display space at the upcoming Craft and Quilt Fair in July, which is absolutely fantastic. We want to create a vibrant wall of quilts for part of our display, so we are running a challenge and encourage all our members to take part.
We would like to end up with a rainbow of mini quilts to hang, so the idea behind the challenge is that each participant will get a bundle of fabric in one colour (but varying shades and tones) along with a background neutral fabric. The title of the challenge is Prism - and if you google prism quilt, you'll get some great ideas for what you might be able to make.
We hope to have these bundles available to purchase very soon, but it has been held up in strikes at the supplier's end. As soon as it arrives we will get busy cutting bundles for you, and we are happy to post it to our northern members. If you would like to participate, please follow this link to sign up. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us at tassiemgq at gmail.com.
I can't leave you without a picture in this post, so this is the raffle quilt some of our members have been working on over the last few months. It will have borders added and is being quilted by Jess, ready for a big reveal at our May meeting. It's not a bad inspiration for a Prism quilt, either!
